PermitData

Terms of service

Last updated October 18, 2026

The service

PermitData compiles public building-permit records and related public data for Texas and delivers them through our website, email, CSV, Google Sheets, API and webhooks. Data comes from government sources and may contain errors or delays. We provide it as is and don't guarantee that it's complete or accurate.

Your account

You sign in with a one-time email link. Keep your API keys and Sheets links private; you're responsible for activity under them.

Plans and billing

Plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the billing page; access continues to the end of the paid period. Fees already paid aren't refunded except where the law requires it.

Acceptable use

You may use the data inside your business. You may not resell or republish the dataset as a competing data product, use it to harass anyone, or use it for any purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (credit, insurance underwriting of an individual, employment or tenant screening). When you contact people from the data, you must follow the laws that apply, including CAN-SPAM, the TCPA and the Do Not Call rules.

API limits

API calls are limited by plan. We may slow or stop access that harms the service.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we'll email active customers before it takes effect.
